a birth.

This is my first blog in a long time. I started this blog page so that I could start writing more regularly. Ever since I stopped logging into MySpace, I haven't written much non-fiction prose that is accessible to people online (a. k. a. a blog). Sure, I've written tons of papers for college (many of which I think are quite special), and I've also kept sporadic journal entries, but I really missed posting blogs on MySpace. Perhaps now, I can catch up on what I've missed. My ultimate goal is to post one blog a day, but we'll see how that turns out.

I have several plans for this blog, and I hope to organize it in the following manner: First, please bear with my learning curb (actually it's good I don't have any followers right now). Second, I will try to post only interesting things that happen to me and perhaps themes that I've pulled from those things. And third, I will try to categorize my posts by label (i.e. Music, Literature, Movies, Events, Spirituality, Fiction/Creative Writing, General, Archive, etc.).

the new[s]
I'd like to start establishing some traditions in my blog right away. I guess it comes from watching a ton of variety shows, but I like recurring segments. I've got several others in mind, but I'll introduce the new[s] today. The new[s] is the segment which I will share what's been happening in my life.

Here's what's new:
-I've been on summer break since the beginning of May.
-So far this summer I've traveled to the island of Yap on a research trip.
-After taking a more thorough look at my graduation requirements, I've realized that I need to add an extra semester at Southern. Therefore, I will also add a religion minor. This also changed my summer plans for returning to Southern early.
-I've been studying for 2 of my 4 Praxis exams for education endorsement.
-I've been working a few odd jobs whenever I can get them
-I attended Ichthus festival in Wilmore, KY (I plan to post a full review later)
-I started practicing guitar for an hour a day. I rediscovered how much I love playing music.
-I've been reading a ton (I plan to post book reviews later)
. . . and that's pretty much it.

Until next time.
